Folly Beach is a city on Folly Island, in South Carolina, just south of Charleston. It’s home to Folly Beach Pier, plenty of shops, great restaurants and a beautiful beach. With so many things to do, it can be hard to know where to get started. To give you a head start, we’ve narrowed it down to the very best things to do in this amazing city.

1) Folly Beach Beach
We love Folly Beach and so should you. It’s where we visit once a month. Folly Beach is located 12 miles from downtown Charleston and can easily be accessed. Folly Beach is full of charm, character and charisma. From the sandy beaches, to the awesome waves, Folly Beach is the place to visit if you enjoy a lively beach town. If you are looking to surf, Folly Beach is your go-to beach in Charleston. Don’t worry about your skill level here because it’s perfect for all levels. 2) Morris Island Lighthouse
The Morris Island lighthouse is located on an island just off of Folly Beach. There is a nice walkway from the parking lot through the sandy dunes to a nice little beach where you can see the light. The beach area is super cute and fun with a lot of shells and a beautiful. It's about a mile walk, but very easy. One of the most exciting ways to visit the lighthouse is by water. Rent a boat or kayak and view the lighthouse up close. Along the way you will see lot’s of wildlife including dolphins feeding and playing in the warm Carolina waters.
3) Charleston Paddleboard Company
Enjoy the shores of folly beach with a rental of a paddleboard from Charleston Paddleboard company. Explore the endless wildlife and sandy shores on the water with this super fast growing sport. You can also take a guided tour or explore the low-country on your own with a paddle board rental! Now this is one thing we highly recommend doing. You can’t visit Folly beach without looking for Dolphins. 6) Folly River Park
Folly River Park is located on Center Street on Folly Beach. A wonderful park that shows a relaxing side of Folly than the beach offers. Folly River Park is a more relaxed and laid back area than the beach and is easier to get to. The park is generally not crowded during the day and free parking nearby allows everyone to enjoy the park. Enjoy the views of the marsh and the river, as well as enjoy a place to sit and play.
7) Sail Folly
If you are looking to view Folly Beach from the sea then check out Sail Folly. With many excursions on Stiletto 27 foot catamarans, this is the perfect way to explore and view nature's wonders. Sail the river behind Folly Island and also up the creeks through the salt marsh itself. You will be able to see dolphins, pelicans, herons, egrets, cormorants, and more. All of the trips depart from the Folly River boat landing, located at 97 Center Street, at the base of the bridge leading onto Folly Island.
8) Folly Beach Fishing Charter
